Janice Harbaugh is a children's counselor in private practice in Iowa who primarily counsels children who have had traumatic experiences in their lives.Over the years, children have shared their feelings with her about movies that have been important to them and characters that they've loved. She believes that well-written, well-acted hero characters in film for children can connect with children and create vicarious feelings of protection and warmth that can help children heal from frightening experiences.Dr. Harbaugh holds a doctorate in counseling from Drake University. She enjoys playing guitar and biking on the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
