Cheryl Lero Jonson is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at Northern Kentucky University. She received a Ph.D. (2010) in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati. She is co-editor of The Origins of American Criminology. Her published work has appeared in Criminology and Public Policy, Crime and Justice: A Review of Research, and Victims and Offenders. Richard A. Ball is Professor of Administration of Justice at Penn State--Fayette and former Program Head for Administration of Justice for the 12-campus Commonwealth College of Penn State. He is former Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University, and received his doctorate from Ohio State University in 1965.
