Anita Jones Thomas is an associate professor at Northeastern Illinois University . In addition to having authored scores of scholarly articles, her academic life includes on-going research on the relationship between psychological adaptation, psychiatric symptoms, and stereotypic roles of African American women. Dr. Thomas is also in clinical practice in the northern Illinois area. Her Ph.D. in counseling psychology was awarded to her by Loyola University Chicago.
