Lois Helmers is a native of Columbus, Ohio. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1980 and is a graduate of Oglethorpe University. She published her first book, a non-fiction history and genealogy research book titled "Meigs County Ohio and Her Soldiers in the Civil War" in 2009. She is an amateur Genealogist, Historian and Civil War re-enactor. She is also an excellent quilter. Gerald Harding Gunn or Jerry as he prefers to be called, has a lifelong interest in America's greatest and most tragic struggle, the Civil War.
