Lauriann Greene is a licensed massage therapist, and former pianist and orchestra conductor. Her background in musical performance combined with her skills in massage led to an interest in repetitive stress injuries of the hands. Her article on this subject was the cover story of the Spring, 1994 issue of Massage Therapy Journal. Massage-related wrist injuries motivated her to create the "Save Your Hands!" workshops for massage therapists and the book Save Your Hands! Injury Prevention for Hands-On Health Practitioners (1995).

Ben E. Benjaminearned his Ph.D. in sports medicine and education, and is the founder of the Muscular Therapy Institute in Watertown, Massachusetts. He has been in private practice for more than 40 years and teaches extensively throughout the country on topics related to orthopedic massage and communication skills.
