Aaron Frisch was born in Browerville, Minnesota on July 22, 1975. He received a degree in English from St. John's University in 1997. He worked as an editor at the Creative Company in Mankato since 1998. He also wrote more then 150 books for children and young adults. His books include Dark Fiddler: The Life and Legend of Nicolo Paganini, The Lonely Pine, Pirates at the Plate, The Girl in Red, and NBA Champions: New York Knicks A Night on the Range received a 2011 Spur Award for Best Western Storyteller from the Western Writers of America. He died on January 7, 2013 at the age of 37.
