CherylSchwartz, D.V.M., graduated from Washington State Veterinary School in 1978 and has been practicing holistic natural veterinary medicine for more than 20 years. Dr. Schwartz is one of the original members of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. She specializes in acupuncture, herbs, nutrition. She teaches herbology and veterinary acupuncture accreditation courses worldwide, and is a frequent lecturer for humane societies and private animal training groups. Dr. Schwartz writes a holistic pet column for Healthy Living magazine, and is also the author of Four Paws, Five Directions: A Guide to Chinese Medicine for Cats and Dogs (Celestial Arts, Berkeley, CA 1996).
An authority in her field, Cheryl Schwartz, D.V.M., is the director of the EastWest Clinic in Oakland, California. One of the first holistic centers of its kinds, the clinic was started in 1986 in response to a growing demand for alternative veterinary care.
