Charles R. Swindoll was born on October 18, 1935 in El Campo, Texas. After his duty in the Marine Corps, Swindoll entered the Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated with several honors including the Harry A. Ironside Award for Expository Preaching and the Faculty Award for Most Outstanding Graduate. Swindoll became a pastor in several churches across the United States, and later became president of the Dallas Theological Seminary in 1994. He has written over 60 books and booklets and was chief editor of The Living Insights Study Bible.

Minister and best-selling Christian author Max Lucado was educated at Abilene Christian University. He has been pastor of the Oak Hills Church of Christ in San Antonio, Texas since 1988. He also hosts UpWords, a fifteen minute radio show that can be heard in thirty states. Lucado has authored over twenty books, three of which were listed as top ten books on the Christian Booksellers Association list. His book, When God Whispers Your Name, was the number one hardcover book for eight months. His book You'll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times made the New York Times bestseller list in September 2013.

Evangelist Billy Graham was born November 7, 1918. He was raised on a dairy farm in Charlotte, North Carolina during the Depression. When he was sixteen, during the fall of 1934, he made a commitment to Christ. Graham graduated from the Florida Bible Institute in 1940 and received and B.A. from Wheaton College in 1943. After graduation from Wheaton College, he married fellow student Ruth McCue Bell, the daughter of a missionary surgeon. Graham was ordained to the ministry by a church in the Southern Baptist Convention in 1939. He was the Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Western Springs, IL from 1943-45.
