Francis J. Beckwith is a frequent contributor to the Christian Research Journal, a publication of the Christian Research Institute. The journal publishes articles that defend the Christian faith against teachings of other religions and the values of modern life that undermine Christianity's fundamental teachings. Beckwith's articles have dealt with theological issues, such as the deity of Christ, the Trinity, and the occurrence of miracles; he has also analyzed the philosophies of other religions, including the Mormon and Baha'i faiths. Beckwith also writes from a Christian perspective about current and often controversial social issues, such as abortion. Taking a strong antiabortion… stance, in The Abortion Debate: Back to the Future and Abortion and Personhood Arguments: A Critical Analysis, Beckwith analyzes the prochoice arguments and then provides counterarguments. He has tackled equally controversial issues in articles on euthanasia, cloning, and civil disobedience. Beckwith's works include Are You Politically Correct? Debating America's Cultural Standards and Affirmative Action: Social Injustice or Reverse Discrimination? Other of his titles include Relativism: Feet Planted Firmly in Midair, and See the Gods Fall: Four Rivals to Christianity. Beckwith received a B.A. from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, an M.A. from Simon Greenleaf University, and a second M.A. and a Ph.D. from Fordham University. He has taught at Fordham, Southern Nevada University, the University of Nevada, and Whittier College. He has also worked with the Nevada Policy Research Institute. Since 1997 Beckwith has been an associate professor of philosophy, culture and law at Trinity Institute University.
