Elizabeth Berg was born December 2, 1948 and educated at the University of Minnesota and at St. Mary's College. Author of the novels Durable Goods and Talk Before Sleep, she also writes short stories and essays. She has contributed to periodicals, including Good Housekeeping, Parents, and Woman's Day. In 1992, Berg published the nonfiction book Family Traditions: Celebrations for Holidays and Everyday
