Description:

Excellent photos and commentary cover all aspects of creating a period style (Elizabethan, American Queen Anne, Shaker, Art Deco). Arrangement is chronological, with most space given to styles which have proved especially popular in recent times. For each style, detailed treatment is given to coverings for walls, floors, and windows; lighting, furniture and pictures; structural and architectural details. The last section treats Art Deco with a photo of a Geffre Museum display of cosmic ugliness. Includes a directory of suppliers. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
