When he isn't running rivers, Mark Blaine is a writer and editor of Forest Magazine in Eugene, Oregon. An award-winning former newspaper editor and reporter, he teaches writing at the University of Oregon School of Joutnalism and Communication and kayaking workshops on the rivers of the Pacific Northwest.
