Gerald Abrahamnbsp;was well-known as a teacher, editor and writer on musical and literary subjects. He was a professor of music in Liverpool University, editor ofnbsp; Monthly Musical Record , and, President of the International Society for Music Education. He was general editor of "The History of Music in Sound," secretary to the editorial board ofnbsp; The New Oxford History of Music , and author of many books, both technical and general in nature.
