Practical and poetic, this is a beautifully written account of a year in Jenny Joseph's Gloucestershire garden through the different smells of each month's plants. Included are appendices of plants with evocative smells that can be planted, with advice on how to care for them.
Jenny Joseph was born in Birmingham in 1932 and studied English Literature at St. Hilda's College, Oxford. Her poem "Warning" was identified as the UK's 'most popular post-war poem' in a 1996 poll by the BBC. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
