Hugh J. Watson was educated at Purdue University and Florida State University. Watson is the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Chair of Business Administration at the University of Georgia, the editor of the Journal of Data Warehousing, and a counseling editor for John Wiley & Sons' Computing and Information Processing series. He is considered a leading authority on executive information systems. Watson has produced over 120 pieces of writing including the books Building Executive Information Systems and Other Decision Support Applications and Decision Support in the Data Warehouse. He has also received the Society for Information Management Outstanding Award two times.
