Pat has been a registered nurse for 39 years and has spent over 37 of those years in the practice of emergency nursing. Her experience includes over 24 years in a Level I Trauma Center, as well as positions in a school of nursing, a continuing education department of a large hospital and a local college. She has maintained her CEN since 1980, when the testing was first offered. An active member of the ENA on the local, state and national levels, she is also part of a third world humanitarian medical group, Project Helping Hands, where she now serves as Director of Education. She has traveled to Bolivia eight times and has prepared materials such as flyers, coloring and story books; adopt a… village programs; and seminars that help educate the local populations. Pat currently works as an ED staff nurse in a local rural hospital. She also works for Holland America Cruise Lines as Ship Nurse and is involved in journalistic endeavors in a variety of venues. She has lectured on a wide variety of topics and has published several articles in both professional journals and other magazines.
