C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) is one of the greatest writers of the 20th century and his works of childrens fiction, fantasy and popular theology are enduringly appealing. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. Interest in his life increased with the biographical film Shadowlands and the publication of his vast body of personal letters, although his most distinguished accomplishments remain his books and his Narnia stories, now being turned into films by Walt Disney and Walden Media.
