Dr. Robert Schuller, Dr. Schuller became a minister when he was ordained in 1950. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree form Hope College and a Master of Divinity Degree from Western Theological Seminary, both in Holland, Michigan. From 1950-55, Dr. Schuller was the minister at the Ivanhoe Reformed Church in Chicago. In 1955, Dr. Schuller founded the Reformed Church in America in Garden Grove, CA. with his wife Arvella, the organist. Dr. Schuller has written over thirty books and five of them have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. Some of Dr. Schuller's numerous awards include the Horatio Alger Award, Freedom Foundation Awards, Clergyman of the Year, Awards of Excellence for… Religion in Media and Peacemaker Awards. He also has several board affiliations which include: Member of the Guild of Architects of the American Institute of Architects; Board of Counselors of the YMCA; Board Member of the National Council of Christians and Jews and Chairman of Churches Uniting in Global Mission. He is married with five children and seventeen grandchildren. His only son, Robert Anthony, is also an ordained minister.
