My name is James E. Best, born in Jackson, Michigan in 1947. I am a graduate of Western Michigan University and I also earned a Masters degree from Central Michigan Univerity in Business. I have had 38 years of business experience working with all types of people which lay the groundwork for my manuscript. Most of the 38 years was spent in supervision and managment. Each new job had its problems and nearly every instance it was the people. In this segment of my life I had many of the most interesting characters with a wide diversity of personalities. When you have to blend in and manage the group you find out why they pay you more money than your subordinates. I have lived in the Jackson… Michigan area most of my life. My wife and I are both retired. Our lake property is quiet, only cell phones we are a small distance from Ohio and Indiana. We enjoy being on boards. I especially like it because I can continue to use my financial skills. Trails of Trials & Tribulations was started on March 1st 2007. This was the first day of my retirement. It is truly an experience and joy to say that I have written a book. Although, I will only consider myself an author when I sell my first book. Life is good right now and I hope it continues. In my earlier years I taught classes for Jackson Community College, Spring Arbor University and Central Michigan University. The courses I taught were in the business field and I taught the classes on the college campus and in the confines of The State Prison of Southern Michigan. Two definitely different groups. One of the more important things that I have accomplished in my lifetime is having written grants worth $500,000 for the St Louis School, a home for physically and mentally impaired children.
