A competitive runner since the age of 14, Dariusz Janczewski is an all-around distance runner, racing anything from cross-country, trail, to road races, and occasionally visiting the world of triathlon. From the very beginning of his running career, Dariusz remembers maintaining a training log. In retrospective, however, after more than 30 years of running, he only have one wish: that he had maintained something more of a journal, or diary - and not just a log. This Journal is the self-answer to his wish. Dariusz left Poland and settled in the United States in 1984 with a desire to get a higher education. His running career in Poland ended with the personal best of 3:39.5 (equivalent of… 3:57 for a mile run), and 1.48.6 in half mile. With the competitive, world-class track-running career behind him, and after graduating from Ashland College (History) in 1989, and University of Cincinnati (Graphic Design) in 1999, he concentrated on road and trail running. Consequently, Dariusz competed in several big-time marathons; his best showing so far being at the 1998 run of the Boston Marathon which he finished in 2 hours and 42 minutes. This Journal is a result of Dariusz'es unique expertise as both a highly experienced, in all aspects of the sport, runner and, for more than 20 years, as a professional graphic designer. Enjoy and Happy Running!
