Susan Smith is a teacher who loves writing, art, and traveling. She taught in special education for 22 years and in regular Education 4 years. She have taught in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Alaska and now North Dakota. In 2008, Susan took eight students to Shenzhen, China in a little exchange program, made possible by my Chinese friends. She is also a mother of three grown children and the grandmother of four active children all under the age of ten. She have been to China many times. Taught in Wuhan two summers and in Chengdu one summer. The rest of the visits have been to my Chinese friends homes and towns. She have also visited her Chinese friend in Taiwan three different times. Susan live… with her Chinese friends and family and have been to places that few tourists get to visit. She have also traveled to The Netherlands, Normandy, France and Canada. Susan Smith was also a representative for ASSE International Student Exchange program in 2008. She have place students from over ten countries in host homes. She have also hosted students from China, Japan, Korea, Germany and France, hosted a girl from Korea, who was an international student. She was with her for four years and is like part of her family. Katies Wish, first known as the fish story, was conceived 30 or more years ago to entertain her children when they were little. She have since told it to her students who would beg her to repeat it over and over. She later put it on paper when she was recuperating from a surgery and needed something to do. He friend, Liu Yong Dong, encourage her to try and publish it in 2004. It has been out of print since 2010. She have now revised it.
