He has published articles and short fiction in American Heritage, Redbook, Playboy, GQ, and The New York Times, and has published several collections of short fiction in book form, most recently Collected Mystery Stories. Block is a Grand Master of Mystery Writers of America. He has won the Edgar and Shamus awards four times, the Japanese Maltese Falcon award twice, as well as the Nero Wolfe award. Carol Lea Benjamin is a dog trainer and author who integrates her careers into both fiction and nonfiction writing. Benjamin's nonfiction works include, Dog Training in 10 Minutes and The Chosen Puppy: How to Select and Raise a Great Puppy from an Animal Shelter. Her fiction works include The Dog Who Knew Too Much and This Dog for Hire, which won the 1997 Dog Writer Association of America Award for Fiction.
