Jerry Newport is an activist and the author of two widely read books in the Asperger's community: ""Asperger's and Sexuality: Puberty and Beyond"" (with Mary Newport) and ""Your Life Is Not a Label: A Guide to Living Fully with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome."" In addition to coordinating several Asperger's support groups in Arizona, Jerry serves as a speaker on a variety of topics, from Asperger's-specific concerns to broader issues such as bullying and depression.
Mary T. Newport, M.D., has provided care to newborns in Florida since 1983 and is currently the founding director of the newborn intensive care unit at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. In July 2008 Dr. Newport wrote an article, "What If There Was a Cure for Alzheimer's Disease and No One Knew?" which was circulated around the world and became the subject of a lecture she presented at the 2010 Alzheimer's Disease International Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Teresa Bolick, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who specializes in autism spectrum disorders. She received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Emory University. Dr. Bolick is a consultant to schools and maintains a private practice in Nashua, New Hampshire. She lives in Massachusetts with her family.
