Donald S. Lopez Jr. is the Arthur E. Link Distinguished University Professor of Buddhist and Tibetan Studies at the University of Michigan. He is the author of numerous books including The Story of Buddhism and The Madman's Middle Way. In 2000 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.Peggy McCracken, the translatorof Gui de Cambrai's Barlaam and Josaphat, is a professorof French at the University of Michigan.
