Phil Peterson Sr. grew up in Grand Marais, Minnesota, on Lake Superior, next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. He has explored that area summer and winter for most of his adult life. In addition, he pursued a life of adventure sailing on a variety of boats and accruing some 30,000 miles of adventures, crossing oceans among them. Married for 45 years, Phil and his wife raised five interesting children into accomplished adults while working near and playing on the Great Lakes, Puget Sound, and oceans east and west. He also enjoyed a 50-year career in the U.S. ski industry. Phil and his wife now live in the beautiful St. Croix River valley. He is an accomplished woodworker, builder of his own…
