ELISABETH KUuml;BLER-ROSS (1926-2004), MD, was a best-selling author and the world's foremost expert on the subjects of death and dying, best known for introducing the five stages of grief. She worked with thousands of terminally ill patients during her lifetime.

Caroline Myss was born on December 2, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. She received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana in 1974. During her career as a journalist, she interviewed Elisabeth K�bler-Ross, the author of the book, On Death and Dying, which inspired her to pursue a master's degree in theology from Mundelein College, which she completed in 1979.
