Arthur Janov is founder and director of The Primal Center in Venice, Calif. Janov has a B.A. and M.S.W. in psychiatric social work from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Ph.D in psychology from Claremont Graduate School. Janov is the originator of primal therapy. His 1970 book The Primal Scream first explained the theory to the general public. Some of his other books include Imprints and Why You Get Sick and How You Get Well.
