Brenda Dougall Merriman, Certified Genealogist (CG), is a Thunder Bay native educated at the University of Manitoba and the University of Toronto. A member of the Ontario Genealogical Society since 1970, she has been certified by the Board for Certification of Genealogists since 1979 on a regular basis. She later served as a BCG trustee for six years. Her interest in family history developed into a wide client practice for more than 25 years and led to numerous speaking engagements across North America. Brenda founded the Ontario Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists and has recently served as the Canadian Department Director for the online National Institute for… Genealogical Studies, where she was active in developing advanced methodology courses.
