Mark W. Baldwin, PhD, received his doctorate in 1984 from the University of Waterloo and held postdoctoral fellowships at the Research Center for Group Dynamics at the University of Michigan and the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He then spent several years pursuing an opportunity to cowrite and cohost the award-winning children's television series Camp Cariboo. Returning to academia, Dr. Baldwin taught and researched psychology at the University of Winnipeg for 8 years before assuming his current position, in 1998, in the Department of Psychology at McGill University in Montreal. Fairy and folklore scholar Terri Windling, five-time winner of the World Fantasy Award, has edited and written numerous fantasy works for both adults and children. She divides her time between Devon, England, and Tucson, Arizona.

Jane Austen(17751817) lived in and wrote about Regency, England. Four of her novels were published during her lifetime. Karen Joy Fowler, a PEN/Faulkner and Dublin IMPAC nominee, is the author of The Jane Austen Book Cluband other novels.

Nalo Hopkinson co-edited So Long Been Dreaming, an anthology of science fiction and fantasy by writers of colour, with Upppinder Mehan. She is the internationally acclaimed author of Brown Girl in the Ring,Skin Folk,and Salt Roads. Her books have been nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, Tiptree, and Philip K. Dick Awards; Skin Folk won a World Fantasy Award and the Sunburst Award. Born in Jamaica, Nalo moved to Canada when she was sixteen. She lives in Toronto.
