I was born on November 22,1950 and given the birth name Vernetta Norman. I have three children, Shelly R. Forbes, John L.Forbes and Tilithia P.Forbes. I have five grandchildren their names are, Shanea L.Wright, De'John L.Tinsley, Ymaria T. Forbes, Mekhi N.Forbes, and Micheal W.Rice.After a failed marriage of 20 years and many disappointments, I began to realize that I wanted more out of life to accomplish some of my dreams. As time passed, I suffered injuries from my job along with sudden visual impairment. However, I refused to allow those things to determine my fate. Dealings with the disability system an all of the complications with it, I found myself writing, which caused me to explore… my skills and continue to maintain a daily a journal. In 2007- 2008 I studied Business Law I & II, completing successfully. Human Services has been of great interest most of my life; to help a single mother, the elderly, children, and people with disabilities are my passions. My other interest are in my family lineage, I've located many family members from both of my parents records. My genealogy- ancestrial research continues to unvail much as I journey the trails of what has been hidden for generations. I'm also furthering studies in the field of writing. All that I write is dedicated to help others stay focused on the work of God. We all must know that whatever happens in life, we can make it better. I've learned that it does not hurt to express what you feel. I realize that life goes on and it will pass you by, if you don't do something positive. I'm determined, strong-willed, and will never give up!My grandson De'John, at the age of seven asked me a question one day. H e asked, Nana, "how can a fish drown?" I answered, " A fish only drowns if it can't swim in water." I never learned how to swim by choice, but, I did learn how to stand."
