"Doug Jernigan, D.V.M, a second-generation "James Herriot" style of veterinarian, grew up in the Flint Hills of eastern Kansas caring about animals. He received his D.V.M degree from Kansas State University. After 2 years in the USAF, he practiced small animal medicine and surgery for 35 years in Topeka, Kansas. Life was a task for him until he began to practice small animal medicine and surgery. Pets and their people changed him. Then, in one seminar, there was a collision between decades of working in animal behavior and the hundreds of thousands of interactions with clients. His stress with people disappeared. Dr. J understood why we tend to behave the way we do. Using "Your Brain is a… Border Collie" Dr. J coaches people to create relationships that last. Dr. J holds coaching and keynote seminars, face to face or online, that blend the newest published brain science and pet analogies with the statistically validated system of human behavior called DISC. He is married to Sondra Jernigan, Ph.D and has 4 adult children with 2 grandsons. He now lives in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. This book is about his journey with pets and people. Your journey in life is up to you."
