Author Floyd Jefferson Farqu� wrote only one novel during his life, but he wrote several stories, poetry, and was an accomplished artist.Born in Louisiana's Calcasieu Parish, Floyd came to Oregon as a young man, was a logger, and worked as a planerman and moulder operator in local mills. He loved the Pacific Northwest, married twice and raised three children there.Beyond high school Floyd educated himself on many subjects throughout his life and, like his character Mark Free, had the same keen appetite for literature.Lobelia Verbascum was brought to publication by his daughter, Lisa, to honor her father's writing life.
