As a result, he found himself in a dichotomy between the streets and what he knew best - Islam. In his freshman year at Al-Aqsa Islamic Academy, during a stop the violence summit held by the non-profit Peace & Love, Youssef was first introduced to spoken word poetry and it was love at first sight. Since then, he has gone on to feature in HBO's Brave New Voices, author his first book titled "A Gathering of Myself," produce his first EP "The Other Friqi' and a host of many other accomplishments.Although spoken word poetry has brought Youssef much success, he still holds his education over all other worldly endeavors, as he is an outstanding student of Leadership and Global Understanding at LaSalle University. Seff believes that one day he will be able to truly make an impact on the world through speaking, writing, da'awah and activism, until then he is out spreading truth and working tirelessly to enlighten himself and the entire world around him.
