My name is Mark Flint and I'm 45 years old and this is my second semester of college. I have two very supportive and amazing kids and a wonderful granddaughter, who without their help I would be able to do this. I have written and published three books, which I had not thought I would be doing in a million years. I'm working three more, one called My Closet My Fear, a kids book called Wheels, a book called Bully No More, a book with inspirational quotes and photos (all done by me), greeting cards, and calendars. I volunteer at an HIV awareness clinic, publishing quarterly newsletters, as well as brochures and business cards. I also travel to schools and rehabilitation centers discussing the… importance of HIV awareness and testing. I had decided though it might seem late in life that I need a change and college was going to give me that change. I had originally majored in culinary but due to an illness and thinking very cautiously about the repercussion of somebody getting sick because of an honest and yet a very stupid mistake, I decided to change my major to Electronics technology. I have loved both fields for as long as I can remember but never took the time to pursue either one for a lengthy period of time that is until my job was lost. I had worked in retail for the past 25 years and always said I wanted to change my career, but never did until one day I decided I couldn't take it anymore and gave a two week notice and decided to go to college and here I am. Aside from changing my career path I still had the rest of my life to contend with, my kids, and my passions.
