I have been an Elvis fan since I first saw him on TV. I was "in love". For many years I watched his movies, bought everything I could buy on my allowance and "mooned' over him.Of course "time" caught me and I married, had children and just watched him from afar whenever I could. I never saw him in person, but still loved!Years later, I divorced and moved to Florida. It was there that I joined an "Elvis club" and really got active in my pursuit of caring for Elvis. After a few years, I became the president of that club and spent 24/7 working on keeping his memory alive! Our club put on annual festivals, I went to Memphis in August and begin to meet many of Elvis' friends and family and those… who really KNEW him. I was so in awe at meeting these people, but as time went on, I discovered they were just as human as me. Many friendships were formed and they became my friends as well. All these years I had written Elvis poetry. It was my way of putting my feelings on paper in ways I could never say in just talking.
