Francisco Rodr?guez Nogales is an Associate Professor of Spanish in the School of Modern Languages at Santa Barbara City College. He is a specialist in the use of technology in foreign-language teaching and online instruction?his teaching load has been 100 percent online for the past five years. He also has developed several Spanish assessment and placement tools. Nogales was born in Pedrera (Seville), Spain. He completed his bachelor of arts at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, his master's at San Francisco State University, and his Ph.D. at the University of California at Davis.
Fabiï¿½n A. Samaniego received his Bachelor of Arts from New Mexico State University and his Master of Arts from the University of Iowa. He taught four years at Utah State University before going to the University of California at Davis, where he served as Supervisor of Teaching Assistants and Coordinator of the first-year Spanish program for twenty-four years. A specialist in foreign-language pedagogy, Professor Samaniego has been a frequent presenter at foreign-language conferences across the country. He has coauthored four college texts and the AATSP Professional Development Handbook Series for Teachers Kï¿½16, Volume 1: Spanish for Native Speakers, and he is coeditor of Language and Culture in Learning: Teaching Spanish to Native Speakers of Spanish.
