Gordon Hemptonis an acoustic ecologist and Emmy Award-winning sound recordist. His work has been recognized by the Charles A. Lindbergh Fund, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Rolex Awards for Enterprise. His sound portraits have been featured inPeoplemagazine; in a national PBS television documentary, "Vanishing Dawn Chorus," which earned him an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Individual Achievement"; and in his new audio series, "Environmental Sound Portraits." He lives in Port Angeles, Washington.
