Darla K. Deardorff is Executive Director of the Association of International Education Administrators, a national professional organization based at Duke University, where she is a Research Scholar in Education. In addition, she holds faculty positions at other institutions including Leeds-Metropolitan University (UK) and the Summer Institute of Intercultural Communication (Oregon). With five books and numerous articles, she has published widely on international education and cross-cultural issues including Building Cultural Competence (Stylus, 2012). A leading expert on intercultural competence and assessment, Darla has given invited talks, trainings and workshops around the world on… intercultural competence, international education assessment and global leadership and serves as a consultant and trainer on these topics. She is founder of ICC Global, a global network on intercultural competence for researchers and practitioners.
