Jacqui Hynd, born in Malaysia with wings on her heels: she studied at a NZ university, and married a local. Not content with being glued to one spot, she has lived in Penang, Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, London and Spain... and travelled widely as well. A stroke in 1995 (major brain haemorrhage) slowed her down a little, to the point of losing the use of her right side, voice and short-term memory... but what's a stroke anyway? Having now published two lifestyle books on cooking, travelling and how to pull yourself up from your bootstraps when all seems lost, she's now not so much dipped but plonked her good foot into the children's paddling pool of books, causing a wave of delight with… her second book of cute penguins on the loose, a tale of intrigue and adventure with bags of humour.
