A former television producer and news reporter with over 200 factual programmes and documentaries to her credit, she is also a qualified historian with a first degree from University College, London; a post graduate certificate in education from Cambridge University (Wolfson College) and a doctorate from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), department of International History.
