MO RAY is Research Fellow in the School of Social Relations, University of Keele, UK. She has worked as a practitioner and manager in a specialist team for older people and in a community care team. She has also taught for several years at the Open University and has been a practice teacher. JUDITH PHILLIPS is Professor of Social Work and Gerontology, Swansea University, UK. She has worked in social work practice, teaching, and research for a number of years.
