Hjordis Varmer is one of the most widely read children's authors in Denmark with eighty-six books to her credit, ranging from beginning readers to historical novels. Characteristic of her books are their thoroughly researched historical backgrounds. She has also translated a number of children's books into Danish. She lives in Hundested, Denmark.
