Pearl S. Buck, June 26, 1892 - March 6, 1973 Pearl Sydenstricker Buck was an American author, best know for her novels about China. Buck was born on June 26, 1892, in Hillsboro, West Virginia, but as the daughter of Presbyterian missionaries she was taken to China in infancy. She received her early education in Shanghai, but returned to the United States to attend college, and graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Virginia in 1914. After more than a decade of writing words ascribed to other people, in December 2014 she quit her job to pursue writing full time. Rebecca lives with her husband and beautiful-but-neurotic cat in Oakland,…

Kate Linton and Ruth Sawyer are cousins who have been best friends all of their lives. Despite many years spent miles apart they remained close. Story tellers that they are, Ruth came up with a way for them to share something fun. She wrote a sentence; the beginning of a story, and asked Kate to continue it. She did, and sent it back to Ruth. So it began and so it continued, until they had created this four-book series; Home to Canyon Creek, Maggie's Way, Captured Heart and Aurora's Song.
