Hi, my name is Linda Nelson. I am a Teen/Young Adult author. I started writing for Young Adults when I posted my second short story. I think it comes from watching my two children grow into adults. My son, who is currently in recovery, struggles with an alcohol and drug addiction. This caused me to remember to take a step back and to look at my own hopes and dreams. One of my dreams was to become an author. I hopes to lead my children by example. Showing them that it is never to late to pick up your dreams and take them to the next level. I live in southern NH with my future husband, my elderly mom, my dog Julie and my Mom's cat Sam. We are also the proud owners of a small group of laying… hen. They do a real nice job with keeping the backyard free of pesky bugs...My book is about how friends can help us through tough times. But what about the friends we sometimes choose who don't always look out for our best interests. This is a fiction story about a 16 year old teen, Karla, she had some wonderful friends. Her best friends. They were the ones who were always there for her. When she has to move away from her best friends and she makes new friends, should they really be called friends? Karla is about to learn the real definition of friendship.I started writing Friends of Choice in 2008 as a short story and it grew from there.I was inspired to write this story by the fact that my children were always finding ways to get into some sort of trouble. When my son landed up in jail again for the third time, I needed a way to vent about it. So I decided to start writing short fiction stories. This particular one caught the eye of an editor and she told me I should finish the story. My writing routine started when I found it easier to write when ever my kids made me upset. Figures right! I had to do some research on what the outcome of the characters should be. I talked with school officials to see if the characters in the story would be suspended from school for their actions and I spoke to law enforcement about any jail time for the characters. For the finishing touches like editing, I definitely paid for Copy Editing Services. I believe this is a must for all Self-Published Authors.I hope to instill into my readers with this story the need to have a sense of how living a life of drugs, alcohol, and partying can lead to adverse consequences. Also, about putting the faith of trust in friends should be held lightly. Because not all friends will keep you in your best interests, but they will put themselves first.Coupon Code for Free Download of Friends of Choice is TH98B This Coupon Expires 11/21/
