Roberto Alonso was born in Havana, Cuba . He was the first grandson of Angelina Blanco. When he was just fourteen years old he and his brother were placed on a Pam Am flight with many other children to the United States on September 14, 1961 to escape the tyranny of Fidel Castro. He attended Shenandoah Junior High in Miami, Florida. After that he attended Coral Gables Senior High. The colleges he attended were Miami Dade Junior college in Miami, Santa Monica City College in California and Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Florida where he received his AA. He is now retired and lives in a small harbor town in Florida. He loves to paint with acrylics as a hobby.
