Aim�e Thurlo was born on June 1, 1951 in Havana, Cuba. At the age of 7, her family fled the Castro regime and settled in Miami, Florida. She wrote more than fifty mystery, romance, and romantic suspense novels. She wrote the Sister Agatha series, the Lee Nez series, and the Ella Clah series with her husband David Thurlo. She received several awards during her lifetime including the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award, a Willa Cather Award for Contemporary Fiction, and the New Mexico Book Award for Mystery and Suspense. She died from cancer on February 28, 2014 at the age of 62.
