Bruce Roberts is senior travel photographer for Southern Living. His photographs have appeared in Life, Time, Sports Illustrated, and countless books. Roberts has won numerous awards for his photography, some of which is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution.
Cheryl Shelton-Robertsis a native North Carolinian and lighthouse historian who has collected hundreds of stories about lighthouses and their keepers, compiling the bookHatteras Keepers Oral and Family Historiesas well as writingLighthouse Families. Her other books includeMoving Hatteras: Relocating the Cape Hatteras Light Stations to SafetyandCapeHatteras: America's Lighthouse. Bruce Robertsis a nationally acclaimed photographer served as the first director of photography forSouthern Living.His lighthouse photographs have appeared in hundreds of books and magazines. In 1994, the couple founded the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society and both have been awarded the “Keeper of the… Light” award from the American Lighthouse Foundation. The authors live in Moorehead City, North Carolina.
Previous author of Worcester Through Time, Ray has also published other titles and is keenly interested in the history of the town and photography.
