Andy Gravette first became a regular visitor to the Canary Islands while working in West Africa as a foreign correspondent. Drawn back repeatedly since then, he has written widely on the islands as a freelance author and is currently working on a new guide to Canarian cuisine. He is based in Woodford, Essex.
