Kathy Ford earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English from Eastern Illinois University. She taught English as a Second Language while also coordinating the ESL program at Eastern Illinois for a number of years. In 2001, she joined the faculty of Lake Land College as an English instructor. In 2003, she earned her Master Online Teaching Certificate through the University of Illinois/Springfield campus, and between 2003 and 2007 she served as the Academic Technology Coordinator. In this capacity, she facilitated the online learning program at Lake Land and trained faculty in the use of new technology. As a member of the Humanities department, Kathy teaches both online and… face-to-face courses, which include Composition (essay/research writing), Composition Skills (developmental), Business English, Writing for Industry, Intro to Literature, Bible as Literature, Children's Literature, Myths and Legends, Humanities through the Arts (study of art, literature, drama), and Holocaust Studies. In 2008, she also led Study Abroad trips to London and Paris.
