Lavishly illustrated with some fifty color and fifty black and white photographs, takes you behind the scenes at the New York City Ballet for an intimate look at the exhilirating, awe-inspiring, body-abusing life of the dancers in the largest dance company in America. Told through photographs and text this gives a first-hand view of what it takes to be a New York City Ballet dancer: the daily training, the injuries, the last-minute cast changes, and ultimately, the transcendent moments onstage at the end of the day.
